Following a historic season for the Golden Bears, Erin Gonzalez, Olivia Kirkpatrick, Marissa Rice, Jessica Traynor and Grace Harrold were named 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Americans. Kutztown is coming off a record-breaking 20-2 campaign that featured the most wins in a single season in program history, the longest winning streak (19 games), and new single-season program records for goals (101) and assists (67). The Golden Bears also led the nation in penalty corners with 304 (more than 13 per game) and allowed a Division II-low 15 goals all season. KU's five All-America selections are its most since 2005, when five Golden Bears were also honored. Gonzalez, Kirkpatrick, Rice, and Traynor were named to the First Team, while Harrold earned Second Team honors. Gonzalez earned her second career All-America selection, while Harrold, Kirkpatrick, Rice and Traynor were each named All-Americans for the first time. Sophomores Kirkpatrick and Rice become the youngest All-Americans since 2017. Together, the group combined for 53 goals, 34 assists, 140 points and 15 game-winning goals in 2025, while playing a pivotal role in a defensive unit that helped limit opponents to just 15 goals all season. Senior captain Gonzalez started all 22 contests at forward for the Bears. She led KU with 17 goals, five game-winning goals and 42 points, while ranking second on the team with eight assists. Gonzalez finished the season ranked sixth nationally in goals per game (0.82) and seventh in points per game (2.00). She concludes her career with 47 goals, ranking seventh all-time at Kutztown, and her 17 goals this season rank 10th in program history for a single season. In addition to being named PSAC Athlete of the Year, Gonzalez earned First Team All-PSAC and NFHCA First Team All-Atlantic Region honors and was selected to the National Senior Team. She was a Second Team All-American in 2024 before earning First Team honors this season. Sophomore defender Kirkpatrick started all 22 games in her first season at Kutztown after transferring from Liberty. She anchored a defense that allowed a Division II-low 15 goals all season. Kirkpatrick was named PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year and earned NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week once and PSAC Athlete of the Week honors twice. She finished the season with seven goals, two game-winners, five assists and one defensive save. In addition to her All-America honor, Kirkpatrick was named First Team All-PSAC and First Team All-Atlantic Region. Sophomore Rice started all 22 contests and finished second on the team in goals (14) and points (35). Rice earned First Team All-PSAC and First Team All-Atlantic Region honors before adding her first career All-America selection. With two seasons remaining, she is poised to be one of KU's top returners. Junior captain Traynor started all 22 games in the midfield, totaling 10 goals and two assists while leading KU with five game-winning goals. She earned NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week and PSAC Athlete of the Week honors during the season, along with First Team All-PSAC and NFHCA First Team All-Atlantic Region recognition. With another year ahead, Traynor will be a critical returning piece for the Golden Bears in 2026. Senior captain Harrold also started all 22 games and finished with a team-high 12 assists, ranking among the top 10 nationally in assists per game. Her 12 assists are tied for third in KU's single-season record book, while her 23 career assists rank tied for eighth all-time. Harrold, a National Senior Team selection, earned Second Team All-PSAC and Second Team All-Atlantic Region honors while adding five goals, 22 points and one game-winning goal. With three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and a core group returning, the Golden Bears will be hungry for even more in 2026.

Third-ranked Kutztown University is headed back to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship for the second time in the last three seasons after pulling away from 24th-ranked Frostburg State in the second half for a 51-29 victory on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6, at Andre Reed Stadium, winning the Super Region One championship. The Golden Bears added to their school record for wins in a season by improving to 14-0, claimed their second Super Region 1 title (2023) and surpassed 50 points for the third game in a row --the first time that's happened in the program's 109-season history. Kutztown University will host a national semifinal game in the NCAA Division II Football Championship for the first time in program history. The Golden Bears earned the No. 2 seed among the final four teams and will welcome No. 3 seed Harding (Ark.) to Andre Reed Stadium, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Learn more about KU football online.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2025 All-Region teams, with Kutztown University placing six student-athletes on the All-Atlantic Region squads. The Golden Bears are coming off a record-breaking season that featured the longest winning streak in program history (19), the most wins in a single year (20) and new single-season highs in goals (101) and assists (67). Kutztown returned to the PSAC Championship Game for the first time since 2019 and reached the NCAA semifinals for the third straight year under PSAC Coach of the Year, Marci Scheuing. This year marks the first time the NFHCA has created official All-Region teams, dating back through archived records to 2001. Kutztown's last recorded All-Region recognition prior to this inaugural release came in 1990. Kutztown earned four First Team All-Atlantic Region selections: Erin Gonzalez (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot), Olivia Kirkpatrick (Annville, Pa./Palmyra), Marissa Rice (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), and Jessica Traynor (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen). Tess Adolf (Lawrence, N.J./Lawrence) and Grace Harrold (York, Pa./Central York) represented KU on the Second Team. PSAC Athlete of the Year Gonzalez, a senior forward from East Earl, is Kutztown's first conference Athlete of the Year since 2015. She led KU in goals (18) and points (44), starting all 22 games, and finished the season ranked fourth nationally in both categories. Gonzalez now sits tied for seventh in program history with 47 career goals, surpassed 100 career points this year, and added eight assists-second most on the team. PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year Kirkpatrick, a sophomore defender from Annville, was just the second Golden Bear ever to earn the defensive award and the first since 2023. In her first season at KU after transferring from Liberty, she anchored a defense that allowed a Division II-low 15 goals all season. Kirkpatrick also contributed offensively with seven goals, five assists, and a defensive save across 22 starts. Rice, a First Team All-PSAC midfielder from Lancaster, started every game and ranked second on the team in goals (14) and points (35), while finishing third in assists (7). She tallied two game-winning goals. Traynor, a junior captain and First Team All-PSAC midfielder from Pennsburg, also started all 22 games. She recorded 10 goals and two assists for 22 points, scoring in nine different games. Her five game-winners tied for the team lead, including four straight during a crucial midseason stretch. Adolf, a freshman goalkeeper from Lawrence, N.J., became KU's first PSAC Rookie of the Year since 2018. She led the conference in goals-against average (0.66), posted a .789 save percentage-tied for eighth nationally-and her 11 shutouts matched Kutztown's single-season record. Adolf finished 19-2 in 21 appearances. Harrold, a senior captain from York, earned All-PSAC Second Team honors. Starting all 22 games, she registered five goals and a team-high 12 assists, tied for third-most in a single season in program history. Her 23 career assists rank ninth all-time at KU. Harrold scored KU's lone goal in the NCAA semifinal and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. The NFHCA All-Region announcement is the first in a series of postseason awards. Regional Players of the Year will be announced December 11, followed by the All-American teams on December 16 and the National Player of the Year on December 18.

Top-ranked Kutztown University field hockey head coach Marci Scheuing was named the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, senior Erin Gonzalez (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot), sophomore Olivia Kirkpatrick (Annville, Pa./Palmyra) and freshman Tess Adolf (Lawrence, N.J./Lawrence) received the major awards from the conference and four other Golden Bears were voted All-PSAC. Gonzalez received the PSAC Athlete of the Year recognition, Kirkpatrick was voted the Defensive Athlete of the Year and Adolf was tabbed Rookie of the Year. The sweep of the major awards is the first time since Shippensburg in 2010 that an institution has accomplished the feat. Gonzalez, Kirkpatrick, Marissa Rice (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Jessica Traynor (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) are All-PSAC First Team members, Grace Harrold (York, Pa./Central York) is on the All-PSAC Second Team and Taylor Vaccaro (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) and Adolf are All-PSAC Third Teamers. It is the third PSAC Coach of the Year award for Scheuing, who is in her 12th season at the helm, also having earned the honor in 2015 and 2022. KU went 18-0 in the regular season and 9-0 in conference play and led all Division II in goals (95), goals against (10), assists (63), and penalty corners (254). The Golden Bears established program records for consecutive victories and wins to start a season (19). Gonzalez, a senior forward from East Earl, is Kutztown's first Athlete of the Year since 2015. It's her first All-PSAC First Team recognition after being voted to the Second Team last season and Third Team as a sophomore. Gonzalez led the conference in goals (17) and points (40) and started all 20 games. Her 67 shots are fourth-most in the PSAC, with 53 shots-on-goal, the second-most and her six assists tied for 11th in the conference. Kirkpatrick, a sophomore defender from Annville, is the first Defensive Athlete of the Year since 2023 and just the second all-time. She led a Golden Bear defense that allowed a Division II-low 12 goals all season in her first season in Maroon and Gold after transferring from Liberty. Kirkpatrick earned one defensive save and chipped in offensively with seven goals and five assists in 20 games starting. She was a two-time PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week and an NFHCA Defensive Athlete of the Week. Adolf, a freshman goalie from Lawrence, N.J., is Kutztown's first Rookie of the Year since 2018. She led the conference in goals-against-average (.55), while also making 37 saves in cage. Her save percentage of .804 was third-best in the conference while her five shutouts ranked fourth in the PSAC. Adolf is currently 18-1 in her 19 games played this season. Rice, a sophomore midfielder from Lancaster, received her first postseason accolade of her young career. She started in all 20 games and ranks second on the team in goals (13), assists (7) and points (33). Rice scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory over No. 5 West Chester in last Friday's PSAC semifinal. Traynor, a junior midfielder from Pennsburg, earned her first All-PSAC honor. She started all 20 games and has tallied 10 goals (4th on KU) and two assists for 22 points. Traynor has found the back of the cage in nine different games. Harrold, a senior midfielder from York, received her highest honor of her career as she was a two-time All-PSAC Third Teamer the last two seasons. She started all 20 games this season and finished with three goals and a team-best 11 assists for 17 points. Vaccaro, a sophomore midfielder from Oley, earned her first postseason accolade in her first season at KU after transferring from Delaware. She started in 19 of the 20 games played this season and finished with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Kutztown will be making its eighth appearance in the DII national tournament all-time and is in the field for the third consecutive year after receiving the No. 2 seed in the upcoming tournament. The Golden Bears will host No. 7 Assumption this Saturday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m.

McDaniel College has awarded select first-year and transfer students with Educator Legacy Scholarships valued at up to $132,000, or $33,000 annually over four years, for each student.

Alvernia University's Residence Hall Association (RHA) hosted its annual Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday, October 30, 2025, drawing over 250 local attendees. Alvernia students, professors and staff transformed Bernardine Hall into a festive Halloween hub. "RHA's Trunk-or-Treat has become something that students, staff, faculty, and the community look forward to each year," said RHA Staff Advisor, Avery Bailey, area coordinator for the Office of Residence Life. "This year, we were able to collaborate with some campus partners, like Pack Hospitality, to make the event an even bigger hit. Even though the weather threw a wrench in things, the students adapted and made the best of it. It is always incredible to see the impact that these students have on those around them and on the community." Alvernia's dining partner, Pack Hospitality, curated a special fall menu at Kestrel Cafe for purchase the event. 101 student volunteers dressed up in costumes and set up 45 decked-out tables to welcome the families. For many, the event is a highlight of the fall semester. "This is my third year participating in it, and each year it gets better and better," said Vice President of RHA, Julia Lawson. "We work really hard throughout the semester to make this an amazing, fun experience for the kids. I love seeing all the costumes and giving back to the community. This event wouldn't be possible without the hard work from RHA, Residence Life, and all of our volunteers." That sense of excitement was shared across campus. Additionally, students earned community service hours for participating in the event, which count toward their graduation requirements. "Trunk-or-Treat was an awesome event this year," said Michael Peffer, a student participant. "Everyone was having a good time, especially all of the volunteers and everyone who set up a table. It was a great event and a lot of people showed up, and seemed to be really happy to be there." The goal of RHA is to advocate for all the students living in university housing to have the best residential experience possible and to help build a stronger residential community on campus through programming. RHA gives students, such as Lawson and Peffer, additional leadership responsibilities on campus, in addition to their roles as Resident Assistants.

More than 200 Lebanon Valley College students, from across all majors on campus, are participating in at least one music ensemble during the Fall 2025 semester.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of The Valley Marching Band features more than 120 students this year. The marching band performs at all home football games as well as appearances at various exhibitions throughout the fall semester.

Kutztown University announced that 351 students will be part of the university's Honors Program in 2025-2026. The Honors Program at Kutztown University provides high-achieving students with opportunities to engage in scholarship, leadership and service. The program, which is undergraduate in nature and open to full-time students, is comprised of a minimum of 21 credits in Honors courses including a senior Honors capstone project. The 21 Honors credits count toward the students' minimum of 120 credits that are regularly required for graduation. Honors students select specially designed Honors courses, course-by-contracts, independent studies and internships to earn Honors credit.
